Scrollytelling

Tools - GSAP

Assignment - Create an immersive, scroll-driven personal story using scrollytelling techniques. The goal was to transform a simple narrative into an interactive experience through animations that react to user scroll behavior. The story could be based on any personal topic

The main goal of this assignment was to learn how to work with GSAP. Throughout the process, I realized that I absolutely want to use it in future projects whenever it makes sense. Animations bring a website to life, and GSAP is a perfect tool for implementing them effectively.

bug’s life

Tools - Figma, Photoshop

Assignment - The assignment was to design a one-page digital experience about a single insect species. After choosing a bug from the list, I had to research its life, characteristics, and role in the ecosystem, then transform this information into an engaging narrative supported by custom illustrations and animation prototypes.

For this assignment, I imagined what an educational-entertainment book about insects could look like — a mix of stylized comics for different species, with factual information woven into the narrative. I then selected Acripeza reticulata from the list. Its dark coloration made it a perfect fit for a noir-style comic, and its many unique abilities could naturally translate into the role of a detective, a classic archetype of the noir genre.

Plantin's story

Tools - Node.js, GSAP, Figma, Photoshop, After Effects

Client - The client is the Plantin-Moretus Museum, the world’s only museum listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Located in Antwerp, it is the original house and printing workshop of the Plantin-Moretus family and home to the oldest printing presses in existence.

Alongside exhibitions, workshops, and guided tours, museum actively engages the public through storytelling, research, and digital communication. As part of their new digital marketing approach, the museum aims to refresh its historical stories through modern, interactive online experience that captivates visitors and inspires them to learn more.

Assignment - Create an interactive longread that brings the story of Christophe Plantin to life for a contemporary audience. Using existing historical material, the goal was to transform the narrative into a modern digital experience with storytelling and interactivity.

I was tasked with shaping the most compelling moments from Plantin’s life and presenting them as a cohesive story rather than a factual overview. The interactive one-pager had to teach the reader through exploration: allowing them to try things out, discover technical aspects of printing, and engage with content in motion.

Design cities

Tools - After Effects, Illustrator

Assignment - The task was to create a themed animation for the Wonder Creativity Festival in Kortrijk. As both Kortrijk and the participating cities are part of the UNESCO Creative Cities of Design network, each team was assigned one of these cities to reinterpret through motion. The final animations would be projected onto the façade of Kortrijk City Hall using eight synchronized projectors. Our team was given Berlin, and we were responsible for developing a visual concept and animation that captured the city’s creative identity.

We decided to portray the story of Berlin by combining key visual elements from different eras. We started with old Berlin, represented through traditional timber-frame houses, and gradually transitioned into a Bauhaus-inspired visual language. The Berlin Wall became the central motif of the animation, symbolizing the city’s divide and its historical weight.

After the Wall’s fall, we introduced a new artistic era by transforming it with vibrant graffiti designed in a Bauhaus spirit. This allowed us to connect pre-war modernism with the post-reunification creative explosion, illustrating how art in Berlin continues to evolve and flourish.

Monster Energy 3D

Tools - Blender

Assignment - The task was to create a 3D animated hero section for a brand’s website to explore the use of 3D on the web in both desktop and mobile formats
Using Blender, I had to design and animate a small 3D scene inspired by the brand’s product or values. The hero didn’t need to be photorealistic, but it had to include motion to bring the scene to life and demonstrate how 3D could enhance the brand’s online presence.

Pinball machine

Tools - After Effects, Photoshop

Assignment - Create a top-down pinball machine animation that demonstrates strong animation skills, attention to detail, and the application of core animation principles. I was free to choose the theme

I chose a dark whimsical style for this animation, and I’m very pleased with how it turned out. This was one of our first motion assignments, with a primary focus on practicing physics-based animation. The pinball machine was an ideal subject because it naturally involved multiple object collisions, allowing me to explore and apply these principles effectively

Forest generator

Tools - React, Node.js

Assignment - The goal of this assignment was to create an interactive art generator using React and SVG, allowing users to manipulate visual parameters through input fields. The project needed to be reactive, updating in real time, and make full use of React concepts like components, props, and state, while incorporating randomized elements via Math.random() that remain consistent when other parameters change.

Building on this art generator, the scope was expanded to include a platform where users could save, share, and revisit their artworks. The front-end was developed with React and react-router, and Strapi was used as the backend to store artwork settings. Each artwork needed a unique URL, ensuring saved versions remained consistent, and additional interactive possibilities—such as creating collections, filtering by tags, and further editing—were encouraged to enhance engagement.

Telenet conference

Tools - Figma

Assignment - Design a partial website for a conceptual client, Telenet, for their online conference “A Digital Society for All”, targeting primarily corporate audiences. The site needed to clearly present the program, allow user registration, and introduce the speakers. Using the client’s corporate identity and supplied assets, the design had to be responsive, organize content clearly, and set a positive, engaging mood for the event.

LARQ bottle Ad

Tools - After Effects, Illustrator

Assignment - Create a short promotional video for a Kickstarter campaign that lacked a strong visual presentation. As a motion designer, the goal was to help potential backers clearly understand the product and its value through engaging motion graphics

I chose the LARQ self-purifying water bottle because I found the concept interesting. For the animation, I decided to use a grainy textured art style to give it a tactile feel.
First, the animation draws attention to the problem of single-use plastic bottles and their environmental impact. Next, it highlights a common concern with reusable bottles: the growth of bacteria that can cause unpleasant odors. Finally, it presents the LARQ self-purifying water bottle as a solution that addresses both issues, combining sustainability with convenience and hygiene.

Mixbox app & branding

Tools - Figma, Photoshop

Assignment - Create the full visual identity and app design for MixBox, a fictional cocktail subscription service in Antwerp.

Define the tone of voice, visual language, and the style elements that will appeal to the chosen target audience. Present this identity through a clear, convincing brand board that communicates the overall direction of the brand.

Next, design the MixBox mobile app using the provided wireframes as a structural guide. Transform them into a complete UX/UI concept where users can manage their subscription and browse cocktail recipes.

Branding

The core idea behind MixBox was to make cocktail crafting feel joyful, accessible, and visually playful, even for beginners.

Logo - The identity is built around organic shapes, friendly curves, and bold, fruity color combinations. The logo features a soft, fluid form inspired by the mixing motion of cocktails, emphasizing the playful and approachable nature of the brand.

Colors - The colors were chosen to evoke freshness, citrus notes, and summer energy

Iconography - This icon set is designed to match the brand’s identity through bold, fluid shapes. The forms are rounded, giving a sense of warmth and approachability. Balance between stylisation and clearness of the design is kept

Photography - Photos reflect the vibrant and youthful nature of the brand, highlighting its social aspect - friends hanging out and having a great time together. This helps create a fun and inviting image that appeals to a younger audience. The use of fruits, plants, and natural elements also ties into the idea of high-quality, natural ingredients, making the brand feel fresh and eco-friendly. It subtly reinforces values like local sourcing and sustainability, which are important for environmentally conscious consumers.
